In December, an inspiring guest lecture took place at the THI Business School, which shed light on the topic of “Sustainable Finance” from a new perspective. As part of the lecture “Corporate Finance - Instruments, Valuation, Capital Structure” by Prof. Dr. Mandy Habermann, Professor of International Accounting and Finance, Dr. Andreas Wagner, Chief Sustainability Officer & Head of ESG Germany at UniCredit, spoke about the question: “Why so sustainable all of a sudden? The role of banks in the green transformation and what this means for our customers.”

The lecture was thematically perfectly embedded in the main topic of “Sustainable Finance” of the lecture, which is part of the “Controlling & Finance” major in the Bachelor's degree programs in Business Administration and International Management. The students were given exciting insights into the practical side of the banking world and were thus able to link the theoretical content of the lecture with concrete examples from the financial industry.

In addition to the students, a representative of a local bank from Ingolstadt also took part in the event, which led to a lively exchange about the future of sustainable financing. The lecture impressively demonstrated the central role banks play in the green transformation and the challenges and opportunities this presents for the sector and its customers.

Lectures like this offer students important practical relevance and are an essential part of studying at THI Business School.
