Sustainability Management and Technologies (M. Sc.)

The following qualifications must be proven for the master programme:

• The successful completion of anan academic study programme in business/economics, engineering or natural sciences, in each case with a business/economics focus or related fields, at a German university with at least 180 ECTS credit points or an equivalent domestic or foreign degree. Proof is provided by submitting the degree certificate. The examination board decides on equivalence. Basic knowledge of management theory or business administration as well as the ability to think abstractly and system-oriented and to formalize approaches and solutions. Knowledge/experience relevant to the degree program, be it of a scientific or practical nature.
• Due to the international orientation of the master programme, proof of the following language skills is required:
  English: B2 level (overview: recognised English tests B2)

The following areas are open after the Master degree:

• Interdisciplinary tasks in the development of sustainability in companies and public institutions
• Employment in technology-orientated companies at the interface of sustainability and technology application
• Employment in the field of environment and sustainability in international organisations

Possible sectors:

• Technology companies
• Management consultancies, project management companies and financial service providers related to the environment and sustainability
• Public institutions and international sustainability and environmental policy organisations
• Start-ups with a focus on the environment and sustainability

• The language of instruction for the study course is English (at elast level B2). By bringing together students from all over the world, we prepare them to work together in international teams. We also target international applicants with this study course. With the Bachelor Sustainble Civil Engineering, which is also taught in English, we already have an international programme at the Neuburg campus that is very well received. Here on campus, in a familiar atmosphere, people from all over the world come together and work together on sustainability topics.

As of winter semester 2024/25, THI charges service fees of 500 euros per semester for students from third countries (outside the EU and the EAA (European Economic Area) . If you have any questions, please go to Contact for prospective students

• We offer a unique interdisciplinary curriculum that combines management and leadership skills for sustainable businesses with insights into key technologies for a sustainable future (AI, circular economy, recycling and sustainable supply chain technologies, sustainable building materials and technologies, clean energy and decarbonization technologies), with foundations in all aspects of sustainability (economic, ecological, social), integrated with personal development, intercultural and social skills.
• Neuburg campus is a small, lively campus where people from all across the globe come to study and live sustainability; learning in small groups makes it easy to connect with teachers and peers.
• International students are actively supported with acquiring German language skills and integrating into the German labour market.
